PRETTY IN PINK
1986, Comedy- Drama- Romance, 96 min’
John Hughes
Andie (Molly Ringwald) has always been a one of my favorites.
A high school senior and a working class girl who has her own sense of style. Determined
to follow who ever she is and does it while wearing pink. That one
scene, the dress making scene accompanied by the New Order hit “Thieves like
us”, simply inspires me. I’m reliving it right now! I wanted to make that
dress; I wanted to have that dress ever since the first time I saw the movie. I
was not much older than ten or eleven back then. Watching this flick made me
remember why I simply adore the 80’s. John Hughes manages to do it for me again
for the one hundredth time. The soundtrack (I obviously own on CD), the clothes,
the hair styles and of course the romance, oh! I wish I was there. It’s prom
night and my heart is beating with that last kiss in the parking lot... Spoiler? I’m sorry, but if you have no idea what I’m
talking about then shame on you!
Couldn't help it!
"...isn't she pretty in pink..."
